Ideally, the test will be performed on-site where the program will be hosted to verify internet speed/functionality. - You will use the student device to: - Test the connection from your Clever, Classlink or Manual account to the Ignite Reading Classroom Portal - Test the connection to LessonSpace to ensure access (and therefore, no firewall issues) - The OA assigned to your district/school account will walk you through logging on to a test session during the IT Test Meeting. | --- ### **Platform Integration Process: Clever** Ignite Reading integrates with LessonSpace. You must grant Ignite Reading access to the students and teachers shared via Clever to enable this integration. Once selected, the field will move to the box on the right. - First\_Name - Last\_Name - Grade - Student\_ID - School\_ID - Student\_Email - Hispanic\_Latino - Race - Home\_Language - ELL\_Status (English Language Learner) - FRL\_Status (Free & Reduced Lunch Status) - IEP\_Status (Individualized Education Program Status) - State\_id  **(*Note: This should be provided only if required by the state for reporting purposes.)*** - Select **Next** and **Save** - This should save these changes and make these fields available for Ignite Reading during their next sync with your data in Clever. | NOTE: To share Student Educational Program (SEP) and Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) fields with Ignite Reading, you will need to upload a customer extension file for those fields. Here is a Help Center article that provides a step-by-step guide on how to upload those fields to Clever and then share with the Ignite Reading application:[For Clever Admins: Syncing custom (i.e. extension) fields to Clever](https://support.clever.com/s/articles/360024370912?language=en_US&name=360024370912). **However, SEP and MLL information can be entered directly in the School Portal during the rostering process, once the Clever sync has been completed.** --- ### **Platform Integration Process: Classlink** | #### **Sharing Information with Ignite Reading: Connecting Via Classlink** | | --- | | - In the ClassLink dashboard, select **Roster Server**. - Select **Apps -\> All Applications**, select **Add** ![](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1754059860654-1.png?width=581&height=205&name=google-1754059860654-1.png) - Search for Ignite Reading and select **Add**. ![](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1754059860654-2.png?width=581&height=209&name=google-1754059860654-2.png) - Select **Rule-Based Permissions** to set up the data sharing rule**.** ![](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1754059860654.png?width=581&height=180&name=google-1754059860654.png) - Select **Add a rule** and create a new rule by clicking on **New Rule -\> Permissions -\> More Options -\> Students**. Filter on **OrgSourcedIds** and **Grade**. The **orgSourcedId** field is used to indicate which organization (school or district) that record belongs to. Sharing the correct student fields will simplify and accelerate the student rostering process for District/School Administrators completing student enrollment for the Ignite Reading program.***  ***Ignite Reading also needs teacher (Name, Email) and classroom information to properly roster students in our platform.*** ***Note: For SY26-27, we have new supported fields for student demographic information, [read more here.](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/home/technology-requirements#classlink-demographic)*** | | - Please ensure the following student fields are provided. Whenever possible, we strongly prefer to receive this data via the Roster Server connection, allowing us to treat the Student Information System (SIS) as the source of truth. - If any of the not required fields listed below cannot be provided through OneRoster, schools may enter the missing data manually in the Ignite Reading School Portal during onboarding. **Required via Roster Connection (OneRoster):** - **givenName** (required) - **familyName** (required) - **sourcedId** (required) - **identifier** (required) - **orgSourcedIds** (required) - **email** (required *Note: A student email is required for access via ClassLink Single Sign-On (SSO))* **Additional Student Fields (Preferred via Roster Connection (OneRoster)):** - Demographics - hispanicOrLatinoEthnicity - americanIndianOrAlaskaNative - Asian - blackOrAfricanAmerican - nativeHawaiianOrOtherPacificIslander - white - Demographics metadata - homeLanguage - englishLearnerStatus - IDEAIEPStatus - section504Status - eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms - Users metadata - userStateId *(Note: This should be provided only if required by the state for reporting purposes.)* | | #### **ClassLink Rostering: Demographic Metadata for Ignite Reading** | | --- | | ClassLink OneRoster does not expose several of the student attributes Ignite Reading needs as standard demographic columns. Those values are shared as metadata fields. After ClassLink ingests them, you must enable them in Roster Server DataGuard so they are included in the export to Ignite Reading. Ignite Reading uses five Demographics metadata fields and one Users metadata field: Metadata field What Ignite Reading uses it for homeLanguage Language spoken at home englishLearnerStatus English learner (ELL) status IDEAIEPStatus IEP status (combined with 504 for special education) section504Status Section 504 status (combined with IEP for special education) eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms National School Lunch Program eligibility userStateId (required for Massachusetts and Virginia schools) Student state / region ID Race and Hispanic/Latino ethnicity come from the standard OneRoster demographics columns (americanIndianOrAlaskaNative, asian, blackOrAfricanAmerican, nativeHawaiianOrOtherPacificIslander, white, hispanicOrLatinoEthnicity). They are not part of this metadata set. Do not share otherRaceIndicator or demographicRaceTwoOrMoreRaces for Ignite Reading — those fields are not used. 1. Adding the metadata columns to your OneRoster files using a CSV file There are other ways for a school system to make student demographic metadata available in ClassLink Roster Server, depending on how your SIS and ClassLink are configured. The process below describes one common option: adding the metadata to your OneRoster files using a demographics.csv file. Each student should have one row in demographics.csv. The student’s sourcedId in demographics.csv must match the sourcedId in users.csv. Only sourcedId is required to ingest the student into ClassLink. Demographic values are required if you want those attributes to appear in Ignite Reading. Headers must match the tables below exactly, including capitalization and the metadata. prefix.   Add these columns to demographics.csv: Column header Description Accepted values sourcedId Student’s sourcedId from users.csv Required metadata.homeLanguage Language used at home ISO 639-2 code or English label. Ignite accepts: ara / Arabic, chi / Chinese, dut / Dutch, eng / English, fre / French, ger / German, hat / Haitian Creole, hin / Hindi, ita / Italian, jpn / Japanese, kor / Korean, per / Persian, por / Portuguese, rum / Romanian, rus / Russian, som / Somali, spa / Spanish, tgl / Tagalog, tur / Turkish, urd / Urdu. Casing can vary (Eng, ENG, English). Unknown languages are stored as Other. metadata.englishLearnerStatus English learner status Y, YES, 1, true or N, NO, 0, false metadata.IDEAIEPStatus IEP status Active: A, Active, 1. Inactive: I, Inactive, 0. Not selected: N, Not Selected, null. Reduced price: RP, Reduced Price. Full price: FP, Full Price. Other: O, Other   Do not use metadata.lunchProgram, metadata.iepStatus, or metadata.ideaIndicator. Ignite Reading reads eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms and IDEAIEPStatus only. Example demographics.csv headers sourcedId, metadata.homeLanguage, metadata.englishLearnerStatus, metadata.IDEAIEPStatus, metadata.section504Status, metadata.eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms Example row abc-123, eng, Y, A, N, F   Add this column to users.csv: State ID is a Users metadata field, not a Demographics field. Column header Description Accepted values metadata.userStateId State / region issued student ID Free-form string (for example, 416Z476) Do not use metadata.stateId. Ignite Reading reads userStateId only. If your SIS already sends these attributes through a ClassLink Auto-Roster or API connector, map them to the same field names above. You still need to enable the fields in DataGuard (section 3).   2. Upload the files and run a complete import To include the new metadata in the export to Ignite Reading: Upload demographics.csv and users.csv to Roster Server via SFTP (or your usual ClassLink import method). In ClassLink Roster Server, run a complete import so the metadata fields and values are ingested. 3. Enable the fields for Ignite Reading in DataGuard Ingesting the files is not enough. The ClassLink application that rosters to Ignite Reading (often labeled Edlink or Ignite Reading) must be allowed to receive Demographics and these metadata fields. From the Roster Server Dashboard, click Apps. In the Ignite Reading / Edlink app row, click the More Actions icon. Click DataGuard. In the window that opens, click Demographics. Select Enable Demographics. Scroll to Metadata Fields and verify that Metadata is enabled. Select these fields (click the box to the left of each name): homeLanguage englishLearnerStatus IDEAIEPStatus section504Status eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms userStateId (Users metadata) Click Save. On the next Roster Server sync, ClassLink will share the selected metadata. Ignite Reading will map them onto student records on the next roster sync.   What Ignite Reading stores after a successful share ClassLink metadata Ignite Reading student field homeLanguage Language spoken at home englishLearnerStatus English language learner IDEAIEPStatus + section504Status IEP/504 status: none, IEP, 504, or IEP and 504 eligibilityStatusForSchoolFoodServicePrograms Lunch program (Free/Reduced → yes; Full Price → no; Other → no record) userStateId State ID If a field is blank in ClassLink, Ignite Reading will not overwrite a value that is already on the student.   Notes ClassLink help-center links and Roster Server labels can change. The field names in this document are the contract with Ignite Reading. Sharing in the SIS or ClassLink UI is not sufficient until the matching metadata.\* columns exist and DataGuard has those fields enabled for the Ignite Reading / Edlink app. Need help? If your district uses a different method to transfer demographic data from your SIS to ClassLink Roster Server, you do not need to use the CSV process described above. We can work with you to connect with ClassLink to determine the appropriate setup for your SIS and provide guidance on how to make the required metadata available in your ClassLink Roster Server. | | #### **Sharing the Ignite Reading Application with Schools & Students via ClassLink** | | --- | | To make the Ignite Reading app visible to students in ClassLink, you’ll need to add the app and assign App Permissions in the ClassLink Management Console. - Navigate to the **ClassLink Management Console** and go to **Applications**. - Open the **Add & Assign Apps**, search for **Ignite Reading**, and click **Add**. ![](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1754060226303-1.png?width=640&height=468&name=google-1754060226303-1.png) - Once added, select **Ignite Reading -\> Assign** and select **Add** for Students. ![](https://knowledge.ignite-reading.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rich%20Text%20Pasting/google-1754060226303.png?width=640&height=297&name=google-1754060226303.png) Any user who is shared with us through Classlink upon selecting the Ignite Reading app in Classlink will be redirected to the Ignite Reading platform once they have been synced by Ignite Reading and as long as the district has white listed the necessary URLS. | --- ### **URLs to Whitelist: All Schools** | #### **URLs to Allowlist (All Schools)** | | --- | | ***To use Ignite Reading and participate in tutoring sessions the District/Schools must allowlist the URLs below:*** | | - https://www.thelessonspace.com - https://room.sh - [https://go.room.sh](https://go.room.sh/) - https://schools.ignite-reading.com - https://students.ignite-reading.com - https://session-service.ignite-reading.com - https://sdk.split.io - https://auth.split.io - https://auth.ignite-reading.com - https://login.ignite-reading.com - https://ignite-reading-partners.learnuponus.com - https://launch.ignite-reading.com - \*.contentsquare.net To ensure video traffic can flow freely, you’ll need the following hosts allowed in your firewall, for UDP ports 30000 - 65000: - ue2-video.firewall.room.sh - uw2-video.firewall.room.sh - ew2-video.firewall.room.sh - af1-video.firewall.room.sh - ase2-video.firewall.room.sh - as1-video.firewall.room.sh You will also need to allow traffic to Lessonspace's TURN servers, on TCP and UDP ports 443 & 3478. Here, you’ll want to disable any form of Layer 7 filtering or traffic inspection: - turn.firewall.room.sh | | ### **Camera and Microphone Settings** | | --- | | ***You can allow certain URLs to be granted access to video and audio capture devices without a prompt, so students will not have to click “Allow” in the pop-up that appears every time they join a session.*** | | - In the Google Admin Panel, go to Devices \> Chrome \> Settings \> Users & Browsers \> Hardware \> Click on **“Video Input Allowed URLs”** - Add the following URLs for whitelisting: - \*.thelessonspace.com - \*room.sh - In the Hardware settings section, click **“Audio Input Allowed URLs”** and enter the same URLs for whitelisting. If student devices have not been replaced within the last 5 years, consider purchasing new devices to optimize program success and minimize technology concerns.
